The 33rd meeting and the 50th anniversary of the formation of the International Work Group on Death, Dying and Bereavement will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada)

*If you would like to extend your trip, you can utilize the contracted rate of $219 CAD for a Queen bed or $239CAD for a king or double beds for three days prior and three days after the meeting. You will book this on your own.

Meeting registration fee includes:

  • Lodging for Sunday through Thursday nights
  • All meals from the start of the meeting except Wednesday dinner which is on your own after the local excursions
  • Local excursions
  • The offsite banquet at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21
  • Coffee breaks
  • Coffee ice cream social

You may have a second person in your room who is not participating in meeting events at no extra charge.

Notes on Fees

Please note that fees have recently increased given the pandemic’s impact on global inflation.

Rates: The following are Early Bird rates.  After July 1st, the registration fee is $1900 and $1500 for accompanying others. Onsite registration is $2000 and $1600.

Cancellations: Permitted until July 25th less a $100 (USD) administrative fee. After July 25th there will be no refunds.

Accommodations: Rooms accommodate 2 adults. There is a fee of $20 (CAD) for a third adult (18yrs and over) in a room, and a fee of $25 (CAD) for a cot.  Children (up to 17yrs) can stay with parents in a bedroom. There is a fee of $25 (CAD) for a cot; a crib can be added complimentary but is based on availability.

Meals for Children: Children under 5 years old can eat buffet meals for free. Children aged 6 to 12 will be charged half price for all buffet meals. Children over 12 years will be charged full price for all meals. When meals are not buffet-style, or ordering from the menu, the fees will be charged to the personal account.
